Canine Trainer

Position - Canine Training and Behavior Specialist

Canine Trainer

Full Time: 30+ Hours Per Week

Part Time: 10 - 20 Hours Per Week

 

Airborne K9 Dog Training is seeking a highly motivated Canine Training and Behavior Specialist to fill the position of Canine Trainer. This position requires an individual with a high level of discipline and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities for the Training Assistant Position:

 

  • Provide standardized balanced training to dogs of various breeds, sizes, ages, and temperaments

  • Communicate effectively and educate dog owners, handlers, and trainers

  • Work as a member of a team and be able to work independently

  • Able to conduct consultations with new clients, private one-on-one lessons, group classes, and be available for occasional special events

  • Familiar and able to educate on proper use of a variety of training tools

 

Qualifications for the Lead Trainer Position:

 

  • 18+ Years old

  • Enjoys working with animals

  • Self-motivated and abile to work independently

  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs

  • Ability to stand or walk up to 8 hours with intermittent breaks

  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients

  • A desire to continue learning and developing as a trainer

  • Social media experience

  • Computer skills

  • Problem solving skills

Training Assistant

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated canine training assistant. The ideal applicant for this position should love working with animals, is self-motivated, and have a desire to learn new skills.

 

The Airborne K9 Dog Training and Behavior Center is a leading training facility in the region and continues to provide the highest quality training for all dogs of our communities.

 

Our goal is to provide assistance in all areas of canine training and behavior. All members of the Airborne K9 team are expected to continually improve their education in dog training, behavior, and well-being as well as related topics to improve our teams’ abilities to help dogs to the best of our abilities.

 

The Training Assistant position requirements:

  • Must be 18 years or older

  • Must have reliable transportation

  • Must enjoy working with animals

  • Must enjoy working with people and have excellent communication skills

  • Must be a high school graduate or have a GED equivalent

  • Should have computer and social media skills

  • Should be able to problem-solve in stressful conditions

  • Detail oriented and able to follow instructions

 

Training Assistant Position Description:

  • Assist with cleaning the facility

  • Responsible for maintaining kennels

  • Must be willing to clean pet waste

  • Must be able to lift dogs up to 50lbs

  • Keeping training equipment clean and organized

  • Assist with training scenarios with Canine Training Specialists

  • Bathing and grooming dogs as needed
